Well, from the lack of thankfulness blogging this week, you can see it was a busy one! But, always thankful, each day, so here goes the catch up...
Day 86 -
Thankful for my sweet kiddos. As much as I did NOT want to go back to work on Monday, coming off of spring break, my kids sure made my school day a good one. They were eager beavers to be back, and their hugs and smiles when they saw me made it worth being back. I am so thankful how a kid can completely change your mood.
Day 87 -
Thankful for how things can work out in your favor. I wasn't supposed to get a planning time on Tuesday, but much to my surprise - the time of our scheduled assembly got moved back an hour, and I got my planning time, unlike some other teachers. And, dinner with the kinder ladies made me very thankful that night too!
Day 88 -
Thankful that after a looooong couple of days at school and benchmark testing, my sweet husband and mother in law brought me a Sonic drink after school. It hit the spot!
Day 89 -
The 29th was my sweet niece's 10th birthday! I am very thankful for this little girl in my life. I was at the hospital the night she was born and have watched her grow up over the past 10 years. She's full of life, is so spirited, and can make anyone laugh. Her heart is so sweet, and I pray great things for her...I'm sure her talents and smarts will take her far. She's a blessing to our whole family, and I am so grateful to have a such a wonderful niece. Love you, Kayla.
Day 90 -
This week was benchmark testing at school. I am VERY thankful that most of my students made improvements from the last benchmark test from January. We're learning something here, people!
Day 91 -
Thankful for a good deal! Found some great summer sandals today for an oustanding price. Can't beat a good deal on shoes! :) It's the little things sometimes...

365 Days of Thanks - Day 83, 84, and 85
Day 83 -
Thankful for getting to visit my past. Thankful for good memories. Thankful for going to a place that still feels like "home." I went to visit my first campus, where I started my teaching career today. It was as if I'd still be there all this school year. It was SO great to see everyone, from teachers to students to even one of my favorite parents! I was just so grateful for the opportunity to visit and feel so loved and supported. I'm thankful for that place - where I started a rock solid teaching foundation, came out with some amazing friends, worked with awesome families, and a place where I can go back to when life just seems a little crazy. I can't wait to go back again soon!
Day 84 -
Thankful for my baby brother. Today was my brother, Evan's, 20th birthday! I can't believe he's 20! Even though I was only 5 years old when he was born, there are so many memories of that day that I can see so vividly. I'm just so proud of Evan and who he has become. I'm so proud of how our relationship has grown and strengthened over the past 20 years too. He's a great kid, who adds so much joy and laughter to our family. He has so many talents and skills, and I know God is going to do great things in his life. I'm so grateful to share my blood, my parents, and so many memories and years with my "brudder." I can't wait to see how he continues to grow!
Day 85 -
Thankful for spring. Spring is in full swing here in Texas...everything from rain to absolutely gorgeous sunshine and warm temperatures. Flowers are blooming, insects and birds are coming out, and I can comfortably wear capris, flip flops, and short sleeves. I love the weather that spring brings. I love the newness...the fresh starts, the rebirth, the green that comes with the changing season, that so many things are ending, but it's the beginning of so much too. Just seems like a happy time. It's one of my favorite seasons, and I'm thankful it's finally here!

365 Days of Thanks - Day 79, 80, 81, and 82
Day 79 -
Thankful for a lunch date with the friend I've known the longest. What blessing Lauren has been to me since we were babies. It's always so nice, and I'm so grateful, for times to catch up with old friends.
Day 80 -
Thankful for naps. Mmm, one of the best parts of spring break (or any break from school) is the chance to catch up on some rest and sleep. And, that means I can take a nap and not have to worry about how it's going to affect that night's sleep. I feel rather well rested this break. Thank you, Jesus for the chance to just sleep.
Day 81 -
Thankful for God's nature and His hand on our weather. I went out on the boat today with Steve to do some fishing. In the 3 hours we were there, we had rain, a pretty good wind, cloud coverage, a light breeze, and full blown sunshine. Isn't it amazing for the way God can change the weather to meet whatever need He sees fit? I'm thankful for His hand in keeping us from harm in severe weather and blessing us with just what we need in way of rain or goregous sunshine. His control is always something to be thankful for.
Day 82 -
That's today...it's only 7:15 am. And, while I am ALWAYS thankful for a new day of life...I'll get back later and see if I can find something from this day to really say "thank you" for. :)
Well, I did have a fun afternoon bowling with my family today, so I'm thankful for getting to spend a little part of my spring break with everyone!

365 Days of Thanks - Day 78
Thankful for this promise from the Lord today: Be faithful where you are right now. The Lord will guide you, He will give you a bend in the road you might never have expected, but sometimes it leads to the greatest things in life. Be faithful where you are right now...greater plans are coming!

365 Days of Thanks - Day 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, and 77
Eeeek...I haven't kept up with the blog of thankfulness this week! I have been thankful...just slacking a little on the blog part.
Day 71 -
This would have been Sunday. We went to the home and garden show with Steve's family and celebrated his oldest sister's birthday. So, on that day, I was thankful for an amazing set of in-laws! I always have the best time with them and feel so close to them. I consider myself just a daughter, just a sister, and a blood aunt. I've been around them for so long, they truly are my second family, and I'm just so thankful for the support, love, and laughter they give me.
Day 72 -
On Monday, my super college roommate came up to school in the afternoon since she was on spring break. Thankful for an amazing friend that would go to another school when she was off, bring this poor working girl a drink from Sonic, and help me grade the last of my piles of assignments! It made the afternoon much more enjoyable. :)
Day 73 -
Thankful for glimmers of hope. I don't want to elaborate too much on this yet, but as I said - just thankful for the glimmers of hope God gives us...some we notice and some, we don't.
Day 74 -
I'm sure I had something great to be thankful for on this day, but due to blog slacking, I can't remember what it was. So, it's just one of those days when I'm thankful for everyday life...waking up to a new day, coming home safely, and enjoying the people and things I love.
Day 75 -
Thankful for a little alone time with Steve. We got out of the house tonight, had dinner, and went to a presentation. In a house of 5 people, you quickly become thankful for the quiet moments and time out, especially with my special someone.
Day 76 -
Thankful to be the one who can make OTHERS laugh for a change. I have so many great people in my life that can make me laugh and change my spirits. But, it's a nice feeling to be the one who can make others laugh, smile, and be in a great mood. (Singing at the top of my lungs with my sister to "The Sound of Music" isn't too bad either.) :)
Day 77 -
Thankful for SPRING BREAK! Need I say more?!?

365 Days of Thanks - Day 68, 69, and 70
Day 68 -
Thankful for my job and how God provides. A year ago on Thursday was when I found out that I had lost my first teaching job due to budget cuts. It was a job I loved, and it's been a tough year since finding out that bad news. But, I am so thankful that this year, prior to spring break - I have a new job, one where I have learned A LOT, and so far, I still have it for next year too. God's provisions are what keep me going. He has not failed me yet, nor will He ever. I'm so thankful for where he has brought me over this past year, and that I still have a job to work and learn and a classroom to call my home. It was a hard day to reflect on what happened last year, but it was a day of thanksgiving too.
Day 69 -
Thankful for people in my life that can turn my mood around. I can be in the most rotten of moods, and there are a few select people who can really change my attitude. Last night, it happened again. My sister, my husband, (most of the time) my brother, one of my best friends, and even my teaching partner can really help improve my attitude. All of my friends and family can, those select few just do it more than usual. I'm thankful that God puts people in our lives to help build us up and remind us to laugh. Where would we be without those people?
Day 70 -
Thankful for a lazy Saturday. Thankful for the rain we need, getting caught up on my sleep, having no strict schedule to follow, and if I am having to get out - it's for dinner with a best friend. :)

365 Days of Thanks - Day 64, 65, 66, and 67
Day 64 -
Thankful for a wonderful day at Canton on Sunday with my husband, in laws, and brother. Great weather and some super finds!
Day 65 -
Thankful for some extra money. I am subbing for tutoring groups at school, and the plus side to that extra hour on those days is some extra money on my paycheck. Even if it's not that much, it'll add up over time, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to bring home a little extra pocket change.
Day 66 -
Thankful for the chance to learn new things for school and teaching. I got to attend a FREE math workshop on Tuesday night with a good family friend. I love when I spend time in a training, and it's not only useful, but relevant too! I even walked away with some great resources and manipulatives. It was a good evening, and I'm so thankful she invited me. I love learning and growing when I can use it for the good of my students.
Day 67 -
I'm thankful for a chance of a better day tomorrow. Today wasn't the greatest, so I'm hoping for better tomorrow! Isn't it wonderful that God gives us new chances each and every day?
