Bridal Showers
I have been slacking on my updates and promised to post about my bridal showers about 3 or so weeks ago, so I thought I would now.
My first bridal shower was on May 31st. It was for my family and close family friends. We had a GREAT turn out. My hostess was the mother of the ring bearer, and she truly out did herself with the cake, food, a
nd set up. I had a WONDERFUL time! One of the most exciting parts was that Amanda and Valerie (two of my best college friends) both drove in from out of town just for my shower! It was an incredibly nice gesture of them. It had been WAY too long since I'd seen them, and I appreciated their presence more than they know. We all answered a quiz on what it takes to be a good wife, had cake, and I opened my presents. Steve and I got some amazing stuff at that shower! It was a very memorable time in this wedding process and the first time all my bridesmaids were together. :)

My second shower was on June 14th. This one was hosted by ladies from my home church. They did a wonderful job of setting things up, having another pretty (and yummy) cake, and making me feel like the center of attention. It was a lot of fun, and I was so thankful for my future in laws and Ryann to be there. Steve and I got some other really great items to add to our first home together!

My last, and most recent, shower was my lingerie shower on June 24th. One of my bridesmaids, Ryann, did a GREAT job hosting this shower for me. It was a lot of fun! I got a huge surprise for this shower, as Amanda came into town without me knowing for the shower! It was so great to have her here. The party was small and cozy. We played some great games about how well my guests knew me and how well I know my groom. I got some great gifts, some real cute stuff. It was a good time of girl talk and just having a good time! I was so happy with it all!
My last big party event is this Wednesday, when my bridesmaids and I hang out all day for my "Bachelorette Party!" So excited...the wedding's almost here! :)

Bridal Portraits
Last week, on the night before I was to take my bridal portraits, we had an almost tornado here in North Texas. It rained all Wednesday night and into Thursday morning, so the ground was absolutely saturated. We had to reschedule my pictures. But, today was a BEAUTIFUL day to do them! There was some wind this morning, but sure did help keep the heat down! We went to Gainesville, to Paul's (Steve's roommate) house to shoot first. Paul and his dad own some airplanes, so we did some poses w/ the plane! It was amazing to take the pictures with the plane. We even did a special surprise shot that people will have to wait until the wedding to see! :) I think they're going to turn out GREAT! Then, we went over to TWU and took some shots with the trees, ponds, and in the Little Chapel in the Woods. I think those are going to turn out great too, very traditional!
It was soooooooo much fun to do that today! Having the dress on, with the jewelry, hair done, and make up felt so real. I looked like a bride! I can't wait for the wedding...I can't wait to show Steve the pictures. I can't wait to get dressed up and know it's all for him that day!
Yay, yay, yay...32 days!

We Don't Have to Live in a Box!
Sooo, a lot has been going on, like bridal showers and family visits to Kansas with the Libick clan, but I'll post about that later. The real exciting news of the day is that Steve and I found an apartment to rent! :)
That was goal for the day, and we accomplished it! We ended up looking at a total of 7 complexes, and the last one suited us best. It's a one bedroom, one bathroom unit. We have a separate living and dining area, a nice kitchen with all the big appliances, cabinet space, and pantry, a coat closet, bathroom with a big counter and washer/dryer hook ups, a pretty good sized bedroom with a huuuuge walk in closet, and a little patio with a storage closet out there! It's about 775 square feet...one of the biggest one bedroom units we saw of the day. The complex is very nice, not too old, quiet with trees, and hidden back behind the street. Steve (and our belongings) move in on July 11th, which is exactly one week before the wedding! So, when I need to destress the week of the wedding, I'll just go to my NEW HOME and organize! :) This makes it all seem so much more real; we are very excited to have our own place!
Whooo, less than six weeks!
