Spring Break

It FINALLY got here! SPRING BREAK! It was a much needed break from school and work for both Steve and me. It was amazing to have him home for 9 straight days! It never fails, though, that even 9 days didn't seem like enough time, as he had to pack up and go back to school. I do have to say that it was a great week, even though it flew by in every aspect.

We started the week out by taking our engagement pictures, as I previously posted about. :) We had a great time doing that!

Monday: We had a picnic at the park with Sherri and Kayla. It was a beautiful day and just fun to have some outside play time. I think us, Aunt, Aunt, and Uncle had almost more fun than the kid!

Steve and I concluded that afternoon by beginning our REGISTRY at Bed, Bath, and Beyond! It took us hours to get thru it all, but really was fun, and we didn't argue at all! He was very patient with my indecisiveness. :)

Tuesday: We registered and looked for bedding alllllll day!

Wednesday: Zoo day with Sherri, Janice, Clabe, and Kayla, while Steve fished with his dad.

Thursday: I went to the Coach outlet with Ryann Marie. Then, we finally found our bedding and did more registering!

Friday: Steve and I ran a couple of errands and then just enjoyed each other's company. Date night was this night, as well!

Saturday: Steve fished, I ran errands and had dinner with Ryann. This was good-bye night. Steve was going to spend Sunday with Paul. Amen to the last spring break to have to say good-bye at the end of the week!

I didn't do much relaxing over the week. Which is probably why I crashed yesterday for over 2 hours. It was a fun week; we got a lot accomplished! Is it sad that I'm now counting down until summer?!

Engagement Pictures

Steve and I had scheduled our engagement pictures for today a couple of weeks ago. I had been watching this crazy warm/cold/rainy/dry weather for the past 10 days, wondering (and worrying) about if we were going to get the pictures in today or not. So, after much deliberation yesterday, we decided to go ahead and keep our session appointment for today. I was letting go and letting God handle the weather and situation. (Go, me!) It was still cloudy and quite chilly this morning, but God came through with the sun shining and the temperature warming up just enough to be comfortable. I was very excited to finally get these pictures taken, since it's so hard to get Steve home!

We had such a fun time taking them. Our photographer is awesome...young and just fun to be around. We took some pictures on the square in downtown Denton, went over to TWU to get some shots, and then went to a more secluded spot of the railroad tracks in town. Our photographer told us she liked to shoot there because there was a lesser chance of a cop to show up, since you're not supposed to be ON railroad tracks. I laughed and told her about Sherri getting pulled over by a police officer the night we got engaged and how even though we were good people, we seemed to attract officers. :) Annnnd, yeah - you guessed it...not 5 minutes after we started shooting some pictures on the tracks, I look up and see a police car driving down the road. She kept right on shooting, but the cop did pull over and get out. He said he was going to ask us what we were doing, but figured it out as soon as he stopped. We played dumb, like we didn't know you couldn't be there. Surprisingly, he let us stay as long as we promised to be done in 10 minutes or so. He congratulated Steve and me and went on his way. We all had terror in our eyes and thought our hearts were going to leap out of our chest. So, that location was cut short...but we did get some cute pictures from the tracks. Talk about some craziness that Steve and I have had surrounding wedding events since July! :)

And in this crazy life...

Wow. What a week! Last week was slllllllllllow going on subbing. Two days was all I worked, so needless to say, I got extremely bored. Tuesday was the TAKS test, and I did sub that day...it just wears you out to be in a school on TAKS day. So, since, I had some additional time on my hands, I called my grandmother on Thursday to see if we could go and start looking at stuff for her to make my veil. Well, we ended up purchasing my veil that day!! (Kinda a long story, but it's beautiful! Totally completes my dress...made it look so much more real!) So, that was exciting.

The weekend was sorta slow too. I had a bridal shower to go to Saturday morning, and then I saw Ryann that afternoon. But, no Steve...which always seems to make the weekend a little longer. On Sunday, I got quite the surprise email, though. It was from a principal in Denton asking me if I'd be interested in coming in for an interview for a teaching position for next school year! So, I have myself my very first "big girl" job interview the week after spring break. I am so excited...and soooooooooo nervous! I'm glad I have a week to mentally prepare! Connections are being made; I'm feeling more confident about (hopefully) getting some offers soon. My own classroom...ahhhh, finally, my dream come true.

Subbing everyday this week. Dad had shoulder surgery today, so life is a little hectic right now. He is doing fine...just groggy and sore. He should bounce back soon, though. It's just always weird when a parent is down with illness or surgery. I am practically counting the hours until spring break...sooooo ready! 18 Saturdays left between now and July 18th, so we have lots on our wedding list to accomplish!

Weekend Whirlwind

This weekend flew by extremely fast, but was a ton of fun too!

After subbing all week, I fell asleep rather early Friday night. But, I had to wake up early Saturday anyway. Steve and I went to breakfast Saturday morning, since I wouldn't see him the rest of the weekend because Ryann and I were going to Houston for Amanda's first bridal shower! We left Saturday around 11 and drove into Katy, since we were staying with Krista for the night. We had a good time getting to visit with the old roommate, go out to dinner, and just kick back with a movie. Sunday, Ryann and I went on into Houston to meet Amanda. I was soooooooooo stinkin' excited to see her! We talk every day, but it's so much better to see one of your best friends than to just talk to her online. She looked GREAT, every bit of the anxiously excited bride-to-be in just 7 little weeks! Her shower was a lot of fun, very cute. Yummy snacks/cake/punch, cute decorations, a picture frame for all of us to sign, and she got some great gifts! It made me want to run home for Steve and me to finish our registery so we can have our first shower!!! :) Can't wait! As short as our time was, Ryann and I had to get back in the car to drive the nearly 4 1/2 hours home. It was sad to leave my good friend, but I will be seeing her a lot between now and July! After many rounds of the alphabet game and seeing a 7 mile backup from shutting down southbound I-45, we made it home safe and sound!

A good weekend...all to lead up to another full week of the kiddos! But, The Bachelor comes on tonight...the finale...so nothing can rain on this parade we've all been waiting weeks for! :)
